We would like to notify all users that the first generation DSE890‑01 (3G) Gateway Devices, used in conjunction with DSEWebNet®, will soon be affected by the global phase-out of 3G mobile network services. Once 3G networks are decommissioned in your region, these devices will no longer be able to connect to the DSEWebNet® server. The DSE890‑01 (3G) version must be upgraded to maintain connectivity.
It is important to note that the second generation (MKII) DSE
890‑04 (4G) version is unaffected and will continue to operate as normal.
Why 3G is Being Phased Out
Mobile network operators around the world are decommissioning 3G infrastructure to free up spectrum for newer, faster technologies such as 4G and 5G. These newer networks offer superior speed, reliability, and efficiency. As a result,
support for 3G services is being withdrawn globally.
Timeline
3G networks are in the process of being phased out globally, some countries have already turned these off. All are expected to be fully decommissioned by the
end of 2025.Plan Your Upgrade Now
To ensure uninterrupted remote monitoring via DSEWebNet®, it is essential that DSE890‑01 devices begin transitioning to the DSE890‑04 (4G) model without delay. This transition is crucial to ensure continued data connectivity and system
monitoring capabilities.
Recommended Steps by DSE
+ Review your current installations to identify all 3G (0890-01) gateway devices
+ Procure replacement 4G (0890-04) devices in line with your needs
+ Schedule upgrades to ensure they are completed before 3G service is discounted in your area
+ Verify connectivity post-installation to ensure continued DSEWebNet® performance
Although this situation is beyond DSE's control, we strongly encourage all affected customers to act promptly. For further guidance, please contact our technical support team or your regional DSE representative.
